About Us

Hello! My name is Kevin Smith and I founded GeekNavy in 2022.

I'm a U.S. Navy Veteran (former ET1) and have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University and an Associates Degree in High Performance Manufacturing from Blue Ridge Community College. I've been working as an engineer and project manager since 2014 and hold a PMP certificate from the Project Management Institute. 

At the time, the only graph paper on the market didn't really have good pre-printed headers, so they had to be drawn by hand and the isometric stuff was pretty bad. I didn't like this and wanted good graph paper that had a solid, well thought out header already printed on every sheet. I don't know why somebody didn't think of this, but most likely because the people making the graph paper were not using it. 

So, what did I do? I made my own isometric graph paper. At first, I had no intention of selling it. I just printed off a pile of paper for use in my project engineering job. It didn't take long for my coworkers and welder contractors to take notice. They asked for some, so I just printed some sheets and handed it out like candy. Then, one thing let to another and I decided to make glue-top notepads since the loose leaf sheets were tough to deal with in the field. 

After some gentle nudging from my contractor friends and coworkers, I created this website and then started manufacturing the notepads you see here.
